Worth the 12 mile, ~1000 ft. climb circular trip! We thought hot springs themselves are sort of forgettable, and like many natural hot springs a niggling gross with algae and silt, but after hiking the half-dozen miles out (Nosotros couldn't figure out why some state it'southward as petty every bit 4), you lot'll actually appreciate the relaxing suspension! The star of this experience is the hike. Super breathtaking and varied. The contrast of destruction from the 2013 fire and the new life is beautiful and the hike has so much variety to it. At the very least pack a lunch to savor before the return hike, or for the more than experienced and ambitious- stay overnight!
May 10th, 2022. The hike was pretty great. Steep in the kickoff, so just a lot of ups and downs. Between 5 and six miles from the lot to the hot springs (found at campsite #8). Because of all the contempo fires and intense winds, in that location were A LOT of downed trees on the path. We called them "tree obstacles" and nosotros counted 151 (fifteenety-1) of them along the trail, where we had to climb over/under/effectually to get by. So that was a little extra exhausting, but we have fun. The hot springs were more warm than hot, theres a lot of algae in them. The river's very common cold. Also there was a good 50 human foot chunk of the trail that was knee-deep RIVER, so had to maneuver carefully around that, a little stone climbing, if you will. We enjoyed the entire experience profoundly, our two 55 lb dogs did every bit well. Turned our phones off for all of it, so unfortunately no photos. There wasn't much for crossroads/crossing trails, pretty much just the one path, which made it actress easy to not go lost (added bonus for the directionally challenged).
This is a great identify to hike if yous're able to handle a 5-vi mile hike. A few parts of the trail are hard. The hot springs at the end are worth the trek! The weather condition can exist catchy so prepare for anything from heat to rain. I'd suggest bringing a towel and a alter of wearing apparel.

Great petty Zoo virtually Pagosa Springs. Just $x. Fantastic way to spend a couple hours. Horseshoe road walking trail to meet Grizzly, wolves, black bears, mount lion, and diverse other animals. Family unit endemic and operated with a dandy back story. Highly recommend for kids and families.
Unique wildlife experience! Information technology was muddy terrain due to contempo snow melt then I would recommend some boots or footwear with skilful traction! The exhibits are completely outside & information technology was a nice trivial hike around the circuit to see all of the animals. These were some of our favorites! The guide was very knowledgeable! Definitely recommend!
Swell identify, costumer service is wonderful! Hubby and kiddos had an amazing time on there 1hr ride. Slide 1 of 3
The Center for the Arts is besides known as the Thingamajig Theater. Wonderful performers from all over the States. This is our 3rd operation, Mama Mia, Jeckel and Hyde and Ring of Burn. The Theater had a formal Gala/fund raiser, we attended. We were able to have a guided tour of the theater with the Actors. Fascinating how many clothing changes the Actors get through during 1 performance. Nifty theater, very intimate and entertaining. Some of the pictures are of the restrooms. Kosmo
Very enjoyable! It has a beautiful anteroom where refreshments are available. The auditorium is designed for live theater and is very placidity, no repeat or reverb when the performers are speaking. It is handicapped-friendly, too.
A beautiful center. The performance was splendid. I was completely blown away by the decor inside and the talent of the actors and actresses. The vocals we're powerful, the commitment absolute. The second stage leaves nigh 2 feet between it and the audience and y'all would have idea the performers had no thought. The evidence itself (Legally Blonde) was very entertaining, funny, expressive and potentially controversial at times. At one point, members of the cast are jumping rope in unison and singing at the aforementioned time. What? ten/10 would art again.

Short walk to an admittedly incredible view. 0.5 mile each way, some of the trail is tough due to big boulders and at that place is ane section that is very narrow. When y'all get to the falls you can become some amazing views and cool off by doing your feet in the h2o!
Amazing hike. Very slippery when snow falls but the rocks and scenery is amazing. The water falls viciously and is very loud and calming
Actually nice waterfall. Drive was long only nice. By and large gravel roads, merely they were skilful. Beautiful hike, almost wish information technology was longer than 1/2 mile to the falls. Got there early and no one was there so got to savor the waterfall all to myself. Felt like in that location was no one around for miles. Facebook: ZenAdventures Instagram: AdventuresZen

Slide 1 of 3
Very remarkable spot. We were guided past an awesome guide and learned a ton of history about the site. The visitors middle improvements are coming forth nicely as well and this will be an even more lovely monument very soon.
A groovy place of historical importance as many writers in the first half of ninteenth century have mentioned about this Chimney Rock in their travel diary during their w trek. However, there are signboards alert about affluence of rattle snakes. That says about the lack of maintenance of this place. Moreover, I went there to on Sunday (27 December 2021) at 2-30 and the museum was airtight. That's the reason I have given 3 stars to this place despite the historical importance of this place.
I'g very happy I fabricated this cease while I was on my fashion to another point of involvement. I learned some very cool information about this place and it was a moderately hard hike that leads y'all to the Chimney Rock Monument. The views at the top are breathtaking! All the staff was friendly and very informative. Really enjoyed this experience.

Ane thing I would recommend is covered sitting area outside just in case of pelting or snowfall. Thank you, volition stay there again when nosotros will be in Colorado
We had a smashing few days on staycation at Elk Betoken Lodge. Cabins are cosy & well equipped, the canoe, sit on kayaks & paddle boards are great for kids and there's a sheltered cove into which the prevailing air current blows so kids stop up on shore again (most of the time 🤞). The hosts/caretakers are friendly and quick to respond to whatever requests. The stables are walking altitude & our son loved getting a first taste of feeding & riding, I'g sure in months/years to come my wife would be keen to get out for a ride with them. Trinity who was managing the stables made usa all experience very welcome. The stables also work with outfitters to guide horseback supported hunting into Unit 75 & 751, whilst that's out of my planned upkeep for a few years it sounds like their camps are the bomb.
The cabins were as we expected rustic & comfortable with the view of lake spectacular !! Jackie & Adam took care of some small-scale problems in a very orderly manner.

Awesome little hot springs correct off the road. If you are headed there from Durango and using Google maps go nearly 1000 feet more than it says. It's right off the road and you can't miss information technology. Maps volition tell you to turn right into a neighborhood street that's a dead end.
Information technology's not everyday yous see a hot jump located this close to the road. You pull off onto the highway shoulder and there's a small parking surface area but the jump is literally right there. In that location were such great colors from the cherry stone to cloudy pools of water. Be very careful because the surface area around the jump is wet, smooth and glace. Our family had the opportunity to ride the railroad train on the Pour Coulee Excursion while we were there for Labor Day! All I can say actually is WOW!! We had debated if we thought it would exist worth the cost when nosotros were planning the trip out to Durango and information technology definitely was! We chose the open up air gondola and information technology was super overnice. Existence able to take in the fresh air was great! Nosotros had read elsewhere to pack layers for warmth and nosotros likely overpacked to make sure we didn't freeze! Having blankets, hats, jackets, and such was swell for the first role of the forenoon. We were able to see the view from both sides, because the train turns effectually, which was super prissy. The views were incredible!! The terminate in Pour Canyon was very nice as well! Best proposition would be to bring lunch! The snack/food car frequently had long lines which took away from your ability to sit down and savor! We were glad nosotros'd packed our lunch! The 5 hour railroad train ride was perfect for our family. Nosotros had two babies with us and they did bully, only we're definitely done by the end of the day. I would totally recommend this trip to anyone and especially those with kiddos!!
Really corking place! Small gift store. Limited seating in the station, so if y'all require to sit often you may demand to arrive early. The train ride itself is very cool and nostalgic as it is a steam engine. Our particular train ride had low-cal snow, but a heavy snowfall the night before. So the scenery looked absolutely astounding. They serve refreshments and food. But also encourage you lot to bring your own. Masks are required however people wearing them may exist hit or miss.
We had a boom! The train was perfect, the weather was exactly what we hoped it'd be like, and the staff were awesome, also. Silverton citizens treated usa like family and we highly recommend Lone Spur Cafe. Live pianoforte music and delicious nutrient.

Location - piece of cake ii block walk to middle of historic downtown. Staff - very all-around and pleasant. Room - clean prissy beds, prefer the courtyard view, river view is across motel parking lot. Other - laundry on site, pool good for little kids, nice courtyard with tables and benches. Would stay again.
This place is out of business concern. It's currently being remodeled into studio apartments. Nosotros're doing a level 3 drywall patch job on them. River Roost will be the new proper noun. Approximately 112 units.
Very disappointed because the money you pay for these rooms. They need updating and maintenance badly. Rooms scent very old and musty. Hair dryer sparked and smoked when I tried to use. Plugs were are all sometime and loose wouldn't hold chargers in the socket. Gross stains on the carpet, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, the lite switch for the bathroom had to be held and wiggled to stay on. The Air-conditioning made a awful mildew odor in the room. We stayed 5 days and had cleaners come in mid week, they didn't inverse out sheets and upon getting into bed didn't even brand information technology just threw comforter upward. Didn't furnish TP, Coffee, water ice saucepan liner or soap. When I found one to ask, she was eating her lunch in i of the rooms she was cleaning. This hotel has a bully location and overnice amenities, it'southward a shame it could be and then dainty. The puddle could be really nice too, but they have all of the sliders in the room blocked so you can't open up them, and the knob for the jets on the spa was broken off. Also, don't be fooled into paying river front view for 70 dollars more, you'll have cars and trees blocking your view. It's not really a river view. Front desk receptionist was very nice.

We had better success than some of the other reviewers. Though we had to expect and expect and and then wait some more than. We we able to go the maps we needed and communication on USFS road weather condition. To the lady staff person who helped u.s.a.: you were so right nearly the back roads in the Silverton area. We made it through merely they were very rough even for our AWD and we managed to crusade a restriction line to neglect! We visited September 20th 2021.
12/2021 They accept a large sign past the highway that says "national woods information". Don't believe it. In my feel about woods service employees are friendly, helpful folks. Not here. The person I spoke with was without a doubtfulness the rudest and most unhelpful person I accept spoken with in recent memory. Must have been in a hurry for lunchtime to roll around or perhaps she had gas pains, but she clearly didn't have whatsoever time or any inclination to assist me. This place is not meant for interaction with the public - it seems to be an office for their ain business organisation and they manifestly don't want to exist bothered by pesky citizens and their questions. Don't waste your time, go on your happy disposition, and just drive right on past.
I didn't blame the forest service when firewood permits couldn't be issued thanks to Trump and company, but now that they're sending chainsaws into wilderness areas, y'all wonder what the people in charge here are fifty-fifty for. It's a wilderness area for a reason. Nosotros take enough of trees they can go in and cut down in not-wilderness areas and team up with their BLM buddies east of town to drill for oil, leave the wilderness areas alone. Whoever made this determination should be ashamed and motility dorsum to Ohio where they can trash nature all they want.

This prehistoric Pueblo was built around AD 1100, and connected with the larger settlement at Chaco via a road that ran due south. Its fundamental feature, a huge slap-up kiva, has been reconstructed to give an impression of how such places must have looked in use a thousand years agone. Another unique characteristic are intact original roofs in several rooms. The fastened museum is particularly informative; if you tin can't brand it downwardly to Chaco, don't miss this site.

Fantastic walk through site. Great for kids teaching and growth. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Vesture comfortable shoes and wearing apparel for the weather condition. Good parking, and parking for RVs and trailers in the dorsum. Approximately 30 to 45 walking tour outside through amazing ruins. Great display of unearthed artifacts and data. Recommend watching the free brusk welcome Film in the theater before the walking tour. All Free, just endeavour donating a little of that colone cancer McDonald's Burger money you suck downwardly to a skilful cause and help keep places like this open. We highly recommend this for a visit.
Know your history! Our family unit had an amazing time. Bully sound bout, good short picture show prior to the tour. My boys enjoyed walking through the most labyrinth similar ruins. Stay on the paved walkways unless you would similar to drag mud in your auto. They have a shoe cleaner by the door on the fashion dorsum. ;) Restrooms were make clean. Staff was welcoming. Highly recommended family adventure.
Piece of cake to go to and of a manageable scale, these well preserved ruins were a delight. There were hardly any people in that location when we went, and the park staff was very helpful. To see the original timbers, and to be able to wait from room to room is really remarkable
